Overview:
Story problems help you practice mental math. They are a good way to help you with numbers and understand how to use them.

Helpful  Hints

           "All Together or Total"- These words mean you should add.
           "How many are left"- This word means you will subtract.
           "Product or Product of"- These words mean you will multiply.
           "How many times or Quotient"- These words mean you will divide.
  
Example:
 Peyton has 10 bunnies. She wants to enter a bunny show but she doesn't have enough bunnies!  She needs 75 bunnies. How many bunnies does Peyton need?   
  Steps-1. You would underline the important words in the problem.
Peyton has 10 bunnies. She wants to enter a bunny show but she doesn't have enough bunnies!  She needs 75 bunnies. How many bunnies does Peyton need?

2. You would take all the numbers and put them on paper.
10  bunnies represents how many bunnies Peyton has
75 bunnies represents how many bunnies Peyton needs
How many bunnies represents which sign your going to use

3. You would subtract because you need 75 bunnies and you already have 10 so you would need to know how many you need so you would subtract. You would take the 75 and 10 and subtract them.
 75
-10
 65 bunnies      .

4. You will get your answer. 65 bunnies.

5. MAKE SURE YOU LABEL!

           
Answer- Peyton needs 65 bunnies to enter the talent show.
